WHAT IS CE MARKING AND HOW IS IT USED?

CE mark; It is a sign that shows that the product complies with all the relevant rules of the technical legislation that requires the "CE" mark to be placed.

CE Mark is a conformity mark with the European Union New Approach Directives, showing that the product on which it is attached is safe for the environment in which it is used. A product may fall under more than one New Approach Directive. When the necessary conditions are met, the CE Mark attached to the product shows that the product complies with all of these directives.

The CE Mark is for the safety of products and mainly aims at free movement within the European Union.

In terms of the Turkish market; Compliance with the relevant regulations has been completed and it has become a necessity to have the CE mark, and products that are within the scope of these regulations are required to have the CE mark, but products that do not carry this mark are not allowed to be placed on the market.

As a result of this service, which can also be expressed as a product certification activity, if the products are in conformity with the relevant legislation, marking showing their conformity is performed. This marking can be CE marking or Wheelmark marking. The New Approach Directives define how the marking will be carried out.

Conformity marking is a result of conformity assessment activities. Conformity assessment activities are mainly carried out on a modular system. Details about the Modular System The Blue Guide, which was prepared by the European Union and contains information on the application of product rules, was translated into Turkish by our Ministry and made available as the Blue Guide.

Although the implementation of the modular system has different details for each directive, it can be expressed in general as follows.

MODULES	DEFINITIONS
A Internal Production Control	It covers design and production. The manufacturer himself ensures that the products comply with the legislation (no EU type inspection).
A1 Internal production control and supervised product testing	It covers design and production. A+ performs tests on certain aspects of the product that are carried out by an agency accredited by an agency or under the responsibility of a notified body selected by the manufacturer.
A2 Internal production control and periodically audited product controls	It covers design and production. A+ checks the product at random intervals by the notified body or in-house accredited body
B AB Type Examination	Covers the design. Products are always followed by other modules where compliance with the approved AB type is demonstrated.
C AB type conformity based on internal production control	It covers production and follows module B. The manufacturer must carry out internal control, including production, to ensure conformity of the product against the AB type approved in module B.
C1 AB type conformity based on internal production control and audited product testing	It covers production and follows module B. C+ tests on certain aspects of the product carried out by an in-house accredited body or under the responsibility of a notified body selected by the manufacturer (*).
C2 Conformity to AB type based on internal production control and product checks inspected at random intervals	It covers production and follows module B. The manufacturer must carry out internal control, including production, to ensure conformity of the product against the AB type approved in module B. C+ product trials at random intervals are tests on certain aspects of the product by a notified body or an in-house accredited body
D Compliance of production processes with AB type-based quality assurance	It covers production and follows module B. The manufacturer operates the production (manufacturing division and inspection of the final product) quality assurance system to ensure AB-type conformity. The notified body evaluates the quality system.
D1 Quality assurance of the production process	It covers design and production. The manufacturer operates a production (manufacturing division and final product inspection) quality assurance system to ensure compliance with legal requirements (not type AB, used like D without module B). The notified body evaluates the production (manufacturing division and inspection of the final product) quality system.
E Conformity to AB type based on product quality assurance system	It covers production and follows module B. The manufacturer operates a product quality (production quality without manufacturing part) guarantee system for final product inspection and testing to ensure AB-type conformity. Notified body evaluates the quality system
E1 Quality assurance of final product inspection and testing	It covers design and production. The manufacturer guarantees that the manufactured products conform to the approved AB type. The notified body carries out product inspections (testing of each product or statistical checks) to check the conformity of the product to the AB type. The approach in the E1 module is similar to the operations performed under the D1 module. While module E1 guarantees the quality of the final product, D1 guarantees the quality of all production processes (manufacturing process and testing of the final product), E1 is therefore similar to module D1 without provisions regarding the production process.
F Conformity to AB type based on product verification	It covers production and follows module B. The manufacturer guarantees the conformity of the manufactured products to the approved EU type. The notified body carries out inspections of the product (testing of each product or statistical checks) to check the conformity of the product to the AB type. Module F is like C2 but the notified body carries out more systematic product checks
F1 Compliance based on product verification	It covers design and production. The manufacturer ensures that the manufactured products comply with the legislation. The conformity of the manufactured product is checked by the notified body through various tests in order to fulfill the regulatory requirements (not type AB, it is used like F without module B). Module F1 is like A2, but the notified body carries out more detailed product checks.
G Compliance based on unit verification	It covers design and production. The manufacturer ensures that the manufactured products comply with the legislation. The notified body ensures that every product is verified to ensure compliance with legal requirements (non-AB type).
H Compliance on the basis of full quality assurance	It covers design and production. The manufacturer operates a full quality assurance system to ensure compliance with legal requirements (non-AB type). The notified body evaluates the quality system.
H1 Full quality assurance and compliance based on design review	It covers design and production. The manufacturer operates a full quality assurance system to ensure compliance with legal requirements (not AB type). The notified body evaluates the quality system and product design and issues an AB design examination certificate. Module H1 provides a more detailed examination of the product design by the notified body compared to module H. The AB design examination certificate should not be confused with the AB module B type examination certificate, which proves the conformity of a sample 'representative of the intended production'. Thus, the suitability of the products can be checked against this sample. There is no such sample within the scope of the AB design inspection document in the H1 module. The AB design inspection certificate indicates that the conformity of the product design has been checked and approved by a notified body.
