Periodic checks and tests of all work equipment that may cause danger by being exposed to effects that may cause malfunction should be carried out by the employer. In this context, forklifts are included in this class and maintenance, testing and periodic controls should be made every year.

As with cranes, wire ropes, chains, hooks, slings, pulleys, brakes and automatic stops that are forklift equipment should be thoroughly inspected quarterly.
